This morning we woke up to the first big storm of the year. About 5+ inches of snow and a quiet, beautiful sight. The only stressful thing was I had to get Lukka to an 8:00AM dentist appointment! We made it there in one piece, amazingly right on time, and before I knew it, he was done and he did great. We came home, quickly pulled on the snowsuits and went back out to shovel and play. Always encouraging Lukka to help out, Grammy got him this shovel for Christmas and he loved using it.
Today is a great time to share this recent 'winter craft' I made. It's an 18 inch felt snowflake taken from Living Crafts Magazine. I put a ribbon on the back, and had Lukka sit in my lap to sew everything together. Both kids loved helping me stuff it and it was super easy and fun to make. I made the size very large, though, about 5 times bigger than the one in the magazine, because I wanted to be able to hang it on my front door. The 'snowflake design' I quickly snipped while watching a movie the other day. I have plans to make these in more colors and you know, Christmas is only 11 months away....!
