Toddler Quilt for Anikka

My favorite type of gifts are handmade ones. You remember my knitted baby shower gifts? Love them!
I was estatic when my Aunt Pat (Grandma to these two cutie-patooties) gave me a beautiful quilt for Anikka's birth. She made one for Lukka too, comeplete with jungle animals and bright colors when he was born. This one is decorated with cute little pastel colored animals like a turtle, frog, and butterfly. In the picture below you can see the beautiful detail of stitching. Those squiggly lines are throughout the entire quilt (I know "squiggly isn't the correct term, but I forgot what it's called)! This little guy is my favorite! Thanks again, Aunt Patty, I love it!

That is SO cute - I am so jealous! I don't think I have the time or patience to make a quilt that intricate. Grandma's are the best!

P.s. - I'm glad that you secretly love canadian onesies. Chris egged me on to make the one I sent you!

P.P.S - Speaking of Mr Canadian, my dad used the Canadian beer that you left at our place for the shower to make a chili and it was delicious. Canadians are good for something, I guess. ;)

My children have recently become enthralled in the world of board games. I was never a board game player. Sure, I remember long summer hours (days? it seemed like it..) spent around a Monopoly board, but I was never one to suggest to get out the cards, or a game. It's a list of where I find games, books, crafts, and fresh inspiration. Also included are articles I've loved about home schooling. One of my favorite websites about homeschooling, updated daily, is Simple Homeschool . It's a shoot off branch of SimpleKids & SimpleMoms, and they often have great giveaways, advice, and have concise and interesting topics. A friend recently guided me to World Book Online to find the general requirements of each grade. At the curriculum fair I went to in April, I remembered two vendors that I want to revisit if they return. Lukka's Birthday Interview // 17

17! You're FINALLY 17! You can drive independently, and you have read the manual, watched professional drivers and gleaned tips from others about this test that you've been dreaming about for years. You were given a car by a friend of ours, cleaned it to perfection, fixed it up in places, and have driven your sister and friends all over for the past week in near-unbridled joy.
