Second Baby Shower

Well the shower season is over for me...at least for awhile. I had a lot of fun throwing my SIL a baby shower, a friend a bridal shower (coming soon) and a family friend a baby shower at our church, Grace Chapel.
I reused most of the decorations from before, which is great since they are really gender neutral and our friends aren't finding out if they are having a boy or a girl. Brown and greens are my favorite "gender neutral" colors. I did a few more at-home crafting before her shower and I think it turned out well and everyone enjoyed themselves.

My favorite decoration was twine set up with home-made baby onesies (an owl and a leaf) with some pants "hanging on the line" above the food table. Around the room were those funky trees & owls made from my online art class.
In the middle of the room was a craft -table set up. I really don't like baby shower/ bridal games because they are usually all the same and when I was looking for a different activity, I stumbled across a great idea on Elsie Flannigan's blog. Create personalized onesies! I think this will be my 'go-to' idea if I ever throw a baby shower again, I loved it and I think all the women there did, too!
I took tons of scraps from my fabric stash and put iron-on adhesive to the back and then cut them down to a square size to trim the edges. I took over lots of plain onesies & a few pant sets, sissors, embroidery floss, hoops & needles, fabric markers and told the ladies to go at it! Once everyone had food and the honored mama was done eating, we started her on opening presents! The food was good (I had some help from a good friend, and a lady from church) and we were so happy we could do this for our good friend whom we love!
A banner hung over the fireplace that reads "Shalom" which I thought my friend would like, since she is a lover of Hebrew words. This word has an awesome meaning, a few of the words that describe this idea of Shalom are "completeness, wholeness, peace". A great reminder when you have a newborn and life is frazzled!

So glad you posted photos of the shower -- it was really awesome and I will never forget it! Can't tell you the number of people who wanted more info on the personalized onesies idea. Love you Sarah!

A friend recently guided me to World Book Online to find the general requirements of each grade.
