Summer Reading Package GIVEAWAY!

Hello! I've been in such a great mood these past few weeks with all the outside time and Vitamin D I've been soaking up, I decided a giveaway would be a good way to celebrate! I am giving away a Summer Reading Package to one reader! This package includes a number of different types of books. Something for each mood, if you will...
First up, a sweet memoir Marley & Me by John Grogan. I love puppies. I love hearing stories about onery puppies. This entire book is filled with them, and with the love one family had towards a pet, Marley. This book will make you laugh out loud, shake your head in frustration at the silly dog, and make you cry a river. It's definitely a beach read.

Next is the action-packed memoir of Jon Krakauer's ascent of (and the tragedy you may have heard about a decade ago) Mt. Everest. I love Jon Krakauer. Anything he writes. ANYTHING! I'm not a mountain climber, nor do I ever intend to, and this book is a fascinating, quick read. It's crazy what these people will sacrafice to climb some of the largest scales on earth.

Thirdly we have Arthur Golden's Memoirs of a Geisha. I know, I know, what's with the memoirs? This is actually a novel, and WHAT a novel! All three of these books so far have been made into movies, and this is actually one of my favorite movies. The story, the visual art, sheer poetry, my friends. Which takes me to the last book...

Temples and Fields by Phillis Levin. Okay, so this isn't the cover of the book, it's actually the author. I couldn't find a picture of this book that wasn't thisbig, so I just posted her lovely picture instead. Since I want you all to be well-rounded individuals, we have: comedy, action, suspense, drama, and poetry. Yes, this is a poetry book, and it's included to make you just a little bit smarter!

The best book I have read so far in 2010 was Hunger Games. Loved it. Gotta read the rest of the series soon.

The best book I've read so far in 2010 was 'The Help' by Kathryn Stockett. I read it in a couple of days on our cross country road trip. :)

Oh gosh. I dunno! Did I read teh Sookie Stackhouse series this year? If so, those. If not, it just shows you how average my reading material has been (grabbing random new releases off the library shelves!)

Not much fiction over here. Do sewing books count? LOL. Actually, I am really enjoying Vickie Howell's Craft Corps. The artists in her book are all so inspiring!

Into Thin Air was an exciting book for me to read, too. I am sort of a sucker for reading books about Mt. Everest. I'm certainly never ever going to climb that mountain, but get a thrill out of reading books like this. The most recent one I read was Left For Dead: My Journey Home From Everest. Pretty touching and thought provoking. (Thanks for all your reviews...this is great!)

My children have recently become enthralled in the world of board games. I was never a board game player. Sure, I remember long summer hours (days? it seemed like it..) spent around a Monopoly board, but I was never one to suggest to get out the cards, or a game. It's a list of where I find games, books, crafts, and fresh inspiration. Also included are articles I've loved about home schooling. One of my favorite websites about homeschooling, updated daily, is Simple Homeschool . It's a shoot off branch of SimpleKids & SimpleMoms, and they often have great giveaways, advice, and have concise and interesting topics. A friend recently guided me to World Book Online to find the general requirements of each grade. At the curriculum fair I went to in April, I remembered two vendors that I want to revisit if they return.
